The Palestinian resistance factions must form a united resistance front to defend our people and promote various forms of struggle, said the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, in a statement marking the one-year anniversary of the occupation aggression against our people in Gaza.

In the statement, released on December 27, 2009, the Brigades greeted the Palestinian people, who embody the meaning of resistance and legendary will, and who have provided martyr after martyr to protect and defend Palestine, its dignity, land, and identity.

The statement said, commenting on the killing of 6 Palestinians on December 25 by occupation forces, that "it is no coincidence that the Zionist occupier commits murder as our people marks the anniversary of the brutal aggression and war waged by the cowardly leaders of the occupation against Gaza. They used all of their military strength, weapons of mass destruction in this organized crime and bloodthirsty murder. The enemy wants to remind us of their crimes in this war and continues to target and kill our people and attempts to expel us from our land."

Furthermore, AAMB said that the enemy believes that war crimes will bring it security and so it continues to defy the world, international institutions, and all international humanitarian and human rights laws, calling for the war criminals to be held accountable. AAMB said that the occupation takes advantage when resistance is silent and does not respond to the crimes, which only encourages it to commit further crimes against resistance fighters and all of our people.

AAMB called for response to the ongoing crimes of the occupation, through reconciliation and unity of our people, particularly building a united resistance front to coordinate the resistance and promote all forms of struggle. It emphasized that there is no option with this occupier but resistance and the unity of our people, and rejecting the absurd 'negotiations' that give the enemy the opportunity and cover to achieve its objectives to besiege and expel our people.

On the anniversary of the war on Gaza, AAMB renewed its commitment to continue the resistance, saying that the blood of those who fell in Gaza will not have been spilled in vain.

AAMB also announced that it detonated a roadside bomb near an invading occupation bulldozer at the Erez crossing at 11:50 AM on December 28, 2009, saying that this is a continuation of resistance to confront the crimes of the occupation.
