Numerous Communist, workers' and revolutionary organizations from around the world, participating in the International Communist Seminar in Brussels, Belgium, on May 16-18, 2008, signed on to a statement in solidarity with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, demanding the immediate removal of the PFLP from the EU's list of "terrorist organizations."

The statement of the International Communist Seminar noted that the PFLP is an integral part of the Palestinian national movement, and a resistance organization, and was signed by numerous organizations. This strong statement of solidarity comes at a time when such lists are used in an attempt to criminalize the resistance of oppressed peoples around the world, and is important and needed at a time when challenging such designations as that of the PFLP is an important part of support and solidarity with the Palestinian national movement and all national liberation movements.

Appeal of Solidarity with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine

We denounce the inclusion of the PFLP by the European Union on the European blacklist of terrorist organizations and call for the withdrawal of the PFLP from that list. For our organizations, the PFLP is a resistance organization and an integral part of the whole Palestinian national movement, fighting for the achievement of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
