The Iraqi Communist Party - Union of the People sent the following message of greetings to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on the 40th anniversary:

Dear Comrades,

On the 40th anniversary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, let us in the Iraqi Communist Party - Union of the People express our congratulations to the PFLP upon forty years of struggle in Palestine and in exile for liberation.

At this time, we stress the strong comradely relationship between our party and the PFLP, in our common struggle against Zionism, colonialism, and reaction, and for the lliberation and self-determination of our Arab people. We salute the members of the PFLP on the 40th anniversary and all resistance forces, who are struggling for the just rights of the Palestinian Arab people.

We express our memory and deep respect for the martyr Abu Ali Mustafa and all other leaders and martyrs of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on this anniversary and pledge to continue in their path of steadfastness and resistance.
