PFLP salutes Al-Hakim on the anniversary of his birthday

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued a statement on the anniversary of the birth of its founder, Dr. George Habash, Al-Hakim, pledging to carry on the struggle, continue the resistance and uphold the rights of the Palestinian and Arab people.

Cuba remembers the life and struggle of Al-Hakim

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine held a commemoration of the life of Dr. George Habash, the founder of the PFLP, in Havana, the capital of Cuba, on February 17, 2009. The event took place at the headquarters of OSPAAAL, the Organization in solidarity with the People's of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

German Palestinian community holds event to honor Al-Hakim

The German-Palestinian Friendship Association held an event on April 5, 2008, commemorating the life of Al-Hakim, Dr. George Habash, founder of the Arab Nationalist Movement and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, as well as marking Land Day and expressing its solidarity with the Palestinian people in Palestine against the siege of Gaza.

The large event was widely attended by the community and had the full participation of the Palestinian Doctors' and Pharmacists' Association, and included debkeh, musical and cultural performances.

Comrade al-Ghoul: Youth leadership in the struggle to liberate Palestine is critical

Comrade Kayid al-Ghoul, member of the Central Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, participated in a theoretical forum on Al-Hakim on Thursday, April 3, 2008. He highlighted Al-Hakim's commitment to Palestinian liberation, noting that Dr. George Habash believed deeply in the ending of the racist Zionist project, and that an end to this project is inevitable. He also said that the constants which he, and the PFLP, uphold should not be risked, changed or altered by anyone.

London event honors Al-Hakim

On March 15, 2008, around 150 people gathered in Central London to commemorate the life and struggle of Al-Hakim, Dr. George Habash, founder of the Arab Nationalist Movement and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Organised by the George Habash     Memorial Committee (London) the meeting brought together people from many different backgrounds from all over England, particularly young people from mainly Palestinian, Arab and also Western backgrounds, whose political affiliations reflect the political spectrum of the Palestinian liberation movement.

Palestinian and Lebanese youth celebrate Land Day and commemorate Al-Hakim

On March 29, 2008, the Palestinian Youth Organization, the youth organization of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in exile, marked Land Day with an event in Sour, Lebanon.

Gaza marked 40 days since the passing of Al-Hakim, Dr. George Habash, founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Arab Nationalist Movement, with a massive rally on Monday, March 24, 2008. Many speakers addressed the gathered crowds in the hall adorned with giant posters of Al-Hakim and a massive Palestinian flag.

Israeli Occupation forces blocked hundreds from attending the Nablus commemoration of the 40th day of the passing of Al-Hakim at Al-Najah University on March 22, 2008. The event, held to mark the 40th day since the passing of Al-Hakim, Dr. George Habash, founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Arab Nationalist Movement, drew many attendees, although many more were blocked by the occupation forces' closure of entrances and checkpoints leading into Nablus.
