PFLP leader arrested in Nablus by Palestinian Authority forces

Comrade Ahmad Al-Mesh'ati, a leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Nablus, was kidnapped in Nablus by Palestinian Authority security and intelligence forces on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Comrade al-Mesh'ati has been "wanted" by the Israeli occupation forces for a number of years. Comrade Zaher al-Shishtari, representative of the PFLP in Nablus, said that the Front holds the Authority fully responsible for his safety and security and demanded his immediate release.

Abnaa el-Balad General Secretary interrogated for participating in a demonstration

Abna'a el-Balad, the Palestinian movement inside Occupied Palestine 1948, announced on August 20 that Comrade Mohammed Kanaaneh, Abu Assad, the General Secretary of the movement, had been called for interrogation by Zionist security services on August 19, 2010.

On June 22, 2010, the District Court for Administrative Affairs at Bir Saba, Eshel Prison, issued yet another ruling denying Comrade Ahmad Sa'adat, General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, visits from his family members. The occupation court stated that, based on "secret evidence", he would continue to be denied family visits and would remain in isolation.

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) and éirígí (the socialist republican party formed in 2006) organized a strong protest commemorating Palestinian prisoners' day on April 17, 2010, outside the Israeli embassy in Dublin, carrying signs and banners calling for freedom for Comrade Ahmad Sa'adat and all Palestinian prisoners and flags of Palestine, Ireland and the PFLP.

PFLP: Support hunger striking prisoners in occupation jails

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine expressed its support for Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike inside the occupation jails in the "battle of the empty stomachs" on April 7, 2010. The prisoners' hunger strike demanded an end to occupation abuses of prisoners' rights and recognition of the political and legal rights of Palestinian prisoners as prisoners of war and freedom fighters imprisoned for their struggle for self-determination.
