Musician David Rovics condems placement of PFLP on 'anti-terror' list

David Rovics, a well-known progressive U.S. singer-songwriter, denounced the listing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and other national liberation movements on so-called "anti-terrorism" lists on August 1, 2010 as he planned to participate in a New Zealand concert supporting Palestine and protesting the designation of the PFLP on such lists.

New Zealand solidarity campaign announces first donation made to PFLP

The PFLP Solidarity Campaign of the Workers Party of New Zealand issued a statement on March 23, 2010, stating that it had transferred 1,000 New Zealand Dollars to the PFLP, collected through selling t-shirts to support Palestinian resistance. The external branch of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine confirmed that it had received the funds, saying in a statement to WPNZ that it had "received these donations as an expression of solidarity from the people of New Zealand to the Palestinian people."

PFLP salutes Danish comrades' challenge to "anti-terrorist" listings

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine salutes the efforts of the Danish comrades in Opror (Rebellion) and Fighters + Lovers to challenge so-called "anti-terror" laws and defend the right to support national liberation movements. Rebellion in Denmark confronts "anti-terrorism" laws in court

Rebellion, in Denmark, announced that the court case brought against it by the Danish government will soon be proceeding. Rebellion was founded in 2004 to challenge so-called "anti-terrorist legislation" and the designation of national liberation movements as terrorist organizations, in order to inhibit international solidarity with those movements.

New Zealand PFLP solidarity campaign condemns occupation attacks on Jerusalem

Communist Organization of Greece: Remove "terrorist" designation of PFLP!

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine received the following statement from the Communist Organization of Greece (KOE) on February 13, 2009, calling for an end to the "terrorist" designation of the PFLP, and the attempts of imperialism to isolate the Palestinian resistance and other national liberation movements through the use of "anti-terror" laws. Throughout the world, and particularly in Europe, an increasing number of voices are being raised to support our people against these laws which are designed only to target the resistance by other means.

Danish t-shirt activists face second trial for support for national liberation movements

Update as of September 19, 2008: The Danish appeals court convicted six of the "Fighters + Lovers" activists on September 18, 2008, overturning their lower-court acquittal. The lower court found that the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine were not "terrorist organizations" under the law; the higher court, however, ruled that both were "terrorist groups" under the law, convicting the activists and confiscating the money they raised.

U.S. Palestinian political prisoner Dr. Sami al-Arian released on bail

On September 2, 2008, after 5 1/2 years of imprisonment, U.S. Palestinian political prisoner Dr. Sami al-Arian was released on bond. Dr. Al-Arian, a longtime activist for Palestinian rights, has been a key target of the U.S. government's war on Arabs and Muslims, and its repressive tactics against the Palestinian, Arab and Muslim communities within the United States.
